Île aux Bénitiers is a small island 500 m offshore in the far southwest of Mauritius. The uninhabited island is a popular place with tour operators who bring their clients to the long sandy beach for lunch after swimming with dolphins somewhere along the Westcoast or snorkelling at the “Crystal Rock”, a small mushroom-shaped rock between the island and the reef. There are plans for building a luxury lodge on Île aux Bénitiers in the future, but right now it´s still a relaxing place, even when the beach is plastered with grills, tables, tourists and alcohol.
Île aux Bénitiers ist eine kleine Insel etwa 500 m vor der Küste im äußersten Südwesten von Mauritius. Die unbewohnte Insel ist bei den Tourveranstaltern ein beliebter Ort, der für ein Mittagessen am Strand angesteuert wird, nachdem die Touristen irgendwo an der Westküste mit Delphinen geschwommen oder am „Crystal Rock“, einem kleinen Pilz-förmigen Felsen zwischen Insel und Riff, schnorcheln gewesen sind. Es gibt Pläne, auf der Île aux Bénitiers eine Luxus-Lodge zu bauen, aber aktuell ist die Insel noch ein recht entspannter und entspannender Ort, selbst wenn der Strand gepflastert ist mit Grills, Tischen, Touristen und Alkohol.
